Beef fry



















Ingredients:
  • Beef - 250 gram
  • Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion - 1 medium sized
  • Ginger - 1" sized piece
  • Green chili - 2
  • Fennel seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Curry leaf
  • Coriander leaf 
  • Red chili - 1
  • Salt - to taste
  • Cooking oil - 3 table spoon (Preferably coconut oil)

Preparation
  • Cut beef into small sized cubes
  • Finely chop onion, ginger, green chili & separate into two equal portions

Cooking

  • In a pressure cooker or thick bottom pan, 
  • add beef, one portion of onion, green chili, ginger, 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder & fennel, salt; cover them with water and cook until meat is tender and soft
  • strain and spare the boiling liquid
  • In a frying pan, heat oil
  • Add fennel seeds, curry leaves and red chili
  • Add remaining half of onion, green chili and ginger & fry them
  • Add boiled meat along with chunks of onion, chili and ginger,
  • Add the boiling liquid 1 table spoon at a time & allow it to reduce in meat
  • Repeat until entire liquid is added, check for salt and sprinkle coriander leaf
P.S: This recipe was cooked for me by my friend, a chef at one of the leading hotel chain. I just end up noting it down & cooking quiet often. If you are beef eater, a must try one
